How To Take Action

Because of what we’ve done together, pre-k expansion remains a priority in NJ! For 2021: Continue substantial pre-k expansion THIS YEAR!

NJ’s state-funded, full-day pre-k has become available to more of our state’s 3- and 4-year-olds – and their working families. There’s been a remarkable recent record of achievement: in the past four years, the number of school districts with NJ’s pre-k has grown from 35 to 150+! Although pre-k expansion is one of the Governor’s priority efforts, COVID-19 created historic challenges. Throughout the difficult challenges relating to COVID-19, pre-k remained a priority! As our state moves forward, Governor Murphy’s proposed FY2022 budget includes $50 million for pre-k expansion!

Thanks to Governor Murphy and the Legislature, New Jersey has made real progress towards fulfilling the promise of a 2008 law: to provide high-quality, state-funded, full-day pre-k – NJ’s pre-k – across our state. In 2021, there are 110+ districts still waiting. Let’s continue substantial pre-k expansion THIS YEAR!  The goal: close 2021 with 200+ districts funded for NJ’s pre-k!
